Thank you for joining my personal Dedicated Journey. Words are art, art is life, and life should be lived in pursuit of self-acceptance. When we can accept ourselves we find healing. Before you serve God through servant leadership you must know who you are and whose you are. God created you by design and for a purpose. The first book I wrote was "Motown: Hitsville USA" and can be found on the Unite for Literacy website. It is not for sale on this site, rather enjoy it online and feel free to make a donation to Unite for Literacy. They are an organization operating on a digital platform to bring multiple book genres to children. The books are narrated and the words are highlighted to help children learn how to read. My second book is available for purchase on this site called, "Dear Reader, With Love". It is a collection of Poems, Short Stories, and Soapbox Speeches. I have formatted it in such a way the reader can write in the margins as they interact with me through words. Often times, a reader does not gain the sense of who the writer is, however, I have opened up my heart and decided to share it with you. In early September 2021, I attended a residency at the Writer's Colony in Eureka Springs and began writing Safari va Kujitolea which is Swahili for Dedicated Journey. As Founder of Dedicated Journey Worldwide, I felt it was important to distinguish myself as an individual. It is my firm belief that we each have our own journey to fulfill. Safari va Kujitolea will be written in a different style while infusing poetry. I am a poet and a writer. I could not stop being who I am, even if I tried. I also have completed my first Spoken Word Audio Experience entitled, "Coming Out of My Chelle", and it will be available on United Master's and SoundCloud. The album is a collaborative effort by a divine yoga instructor, a recording songstress, a gifted young rapper, and a talented saxophonist all coming together to shape the background for my favorite poems. It is produced my Grammy nominated Bre Leini, who is a dynamic soul singer and musician. We began recording it on my 38th birthday. It was an experience that will lead to more albums in the future. Love God, Love Yourself, Love One Another

Thank you for joining me on this journey of self-acceptance. I was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (Brittle Bone Genetic Disorder). Throughout my life I have been on so many different adventurous that all lead to one narrow path. This narrow way, is only narrow by connotation. It is deep and multifaceted. Thank you for walking with me, let us both be inspired and see where this path leads. We must stay focused and prayed up. It's a journey called Safari va Kujitolea "A Dedicated Journey". My first book Dear Reader, With Love is dedicated to my dear friend and soul sister Kianna Sams Freeman. She fought a good fight and now I celebrate her whenever possible. I was born with a disability, but a becoming disabled was written into her life. She had Lupus and Congestive Heart failure. Often times disabilities are invisible, but her love for our friendship was very visible. She left the blueprint to mutual friendship on my heart. She was one in a million. I would also like to show love to my father Raymond Jones, my mother Shelia Brookins, and my brother Michael Jones. I look up to the Heavens and I blow kisses to Matthew and Raymond Jr. They died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. #backtosleep wasn't a thing back then, but I am happy that it is now. Advocacy is important, anyone can find a cause they are passionate about. Get involved in your community through volunteering and Service Learning projects. If we work together we can produce the type of change that is needed here on Earth. Both Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and Gandi advocated for social justice. Let us be the ones that continue the work. We have overcome many obstacles, but there are many more hills to climb. I am available for poetry readings, storytelling events, children's birthday parties, discussion panels, focus groups, and if you want to hear my passion come alive... I am willing to collaborate and share my soapbox.
